These hands-on workshops will help you gain confidence in using a mechanical IPR handpiece. You will save significant time on IPR, achieve a more precise result, safely and ensure a more comfortable experience for your patients.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: To gain a greater understanding of the following:

Understand the role of IPR
Learn treatment considerations and planning for IPR
Gain hands on experience of a mechanical IPR system with a reciprocating handpiece (Swingle)
Learn protocols for treatment
Clinical cases

Carry out precise, calibrated reduction of enamel with a step by step protocol
Effectively perform finishing and polishing for anatomical and dental health ideal outcomes
Efficient use of mechanical IPR system in routine clinical practice

Dr Farooq Ahmed

Dr Farooq Ahmed - Consultant & Specilist Orthodontist

Farooq Ahmed is a consultant orthodontist at Guy’s Hospital and specialist orthodontist in in private practice at Treehouse Dental in North London.

He qualified as a dentist from the University of Manchester UK in 2009. He went on to complete his speciality training in orthodontics in Manchester in 2015, and senior registrar training at The Royal London , where he learned complex management and interdisciplinary care for patients.

Farooq is the lead for Aligner Training at Guy’s Hospital and a committee member of the British Orthodontic Society’s Clinical Governance Group. He is an editorial board member of Seminars In Orthodontics Journal and is a reviewer for the Journal of Orthodontics and the Angle Orthodontist.

He hosts a podcast and blog - orthodontics in summary, in which he summarises key lectures and interviews prominent orthodontists.

Dr Hesham Ali

Hesham is a Consultant at Royal Bolton Hospital. He has worked and trained for more than 15 years in Ireland and in Greater Manchester both as a general dentist and then a Consultant & Specialist Orthodontist. Hesham has a particular interest in adult orthodontics and cosmetic teeth alignment and has a passion for teaching being involved in the training of undergraduate students and postgraduate orthodontic specialty trainees at the University of Manchester.

You will receive confirmation of your place on the course once payment has been received. A 50% cancellation fee will be levied if a booking is cancelled within two weeks of the course. TOC reserves the right to cancel the event up to 24 hours prior to its commencement without additional liability. Reimbursement of course fees would be made in this case. E&OE.
